About the music...

This CD for me is different... It’s impressions of city nightlife. It’s a collection of short tracks of varying styles... improvised electronic grooves, some bluesy some slightly jazzy; a mixture of contrasting moods. Some are more intimate some smoochy even. The more upbeat tracks are, for me, almost party music! I just fancied a change.

Technical...

Modern digital and digital sample based synthesisers and computer sequencers only were used on this album. There’s virtually none of my usual analogue synthesis, so it’s much a more conventional up front sounding music CD. Trumpets, saxophones, guitars, harps, string sections, and various drum kits, etc. plus a few very digital sounding synthesiser riffs fill the constantly changing tracks. I think it still sounds fairly unusual though and it still is entirely electronically generated.

Recording is once again is all analogue, which I prefer even with digital source sounds. The CD production master is again a direct simple high quality transfer from the studio master tapes.
